One Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On I-695: Police
Charges are pending against the driver in the I-695 wrong-way crash, which happened Friday near Loch Raven Boulevard.

TOWSON, MD – Police said a woman died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 695 Friday morning. She was a passenger in an SUV that was hit head-on near Loch Raven Boulevard and flipped over, trapping those inside, according to police.
The woman, who is from another country, has not been publicly identified pending next-of-kin notification.
Police said that at 2:45 a.m. on Friday, a state trooper responded to a crash on the outer loop of I-695 near Loch Raven Boulevard.

Late Friday morning, police said, the woman was pronounced deceased.
Based on the preliminary investigation, officials said a car had been going the wrong way on the outer loop of I-695, driving east in the westbound lanes of I-695, when it hit an SUV head-on near Loch Raven Boulevard.

As a result of the head-on collision, officials reported the SUV overturned.
All three people inside the vehicles were trapped, according to officials. Fire and rescue personnel freed them and took them to area hospitals. Two people from the SUV and the driver of the car were taken by ambulance to Sinai Hospital.
Lanes were closed on the outer loop of I-695 for several hours Friday morning as police investigated.

Charges are pending against the driver of the passenger car, who was a Maryland man, according to officials.
Police said it was unknown where the car started going the wrong way on the interstate, and there had not been any calls to the barrack reporting a vehicle going the wrong way on I-695.
"No factors, including alcohol use, have been ruled out at this time," Maryland State Police said in a statement.
Once the Maryland State Police Crash Team completes its investigation, the report will be submitted to the Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office for review.
