Pedestrian Injured In July 4th Crash Dies: Police

Nathanial Ruiz, 54, was injured July 4 when he was hit by a car while working under the hood of a parked vehicle.

TOWSON, MD — A pedestrian struck by a car over the Fourth of July holiday has died, according to Baltimore County police. Nathanial Ruiz, 54, was injured July 4 when he was hit by a car while working under the hood of a vehicle parked on Providence Road just south of Crestwick Road.

According to police, Ruiz was working on the car at approximately 2:35 p.m. when he was struck by a Mercedes ML350 traveling in the opposite direction. The Mercedes had crossed the center line when it hit Ruiz, causing critical injuries. A passenger in the parked car, a 42-year-old unidentified woman, was also injured.

Both Ruiz and the woman were transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma. The driver of the Mercedes and its passenger were uninjured. The crash remains under investigation.
