Police: 9 DUI Crashes In Baltimore County Over Weekend

About one-third of the weekend's impaired driving crashes handled by Maryland State Police occurred in Baltimore County, officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD β€” There were nine DUI-related crashes over the weekend in Baltimore County, according to Maryland State Police. Officials said those were among 25 collisions in which the driver was impaired between Friday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 16.

These were the places in Baltimore County where troopers found drug or alcohol-related crashes, according to Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley:

  • I-695 west at Falls Road
  • I-83 north at Ruxton Road
  • I-695 west ramp to Charles Street
  • I-695 east ramp to Greenspring Avenue
  • I-695 west at Edmondson Avenue
  • I-795 south at Franklin Boulevard
  • I-695 west before Reisterstown Road
  • I-695 west at Belair Road
  • I-95 north at mile post 70.3

In addition to those weekend crashes, police said troopers made 48 DUI arrests across the state.

Troopers will be conducting extra patrols to catch impaired drivers throughout the holidays into the New Year, police said.

Drinkers are encouraged designate a sober driver or get the Safer Ride app, which is sponsored by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and pulls up taxi services in the area.
