25 Weekend Crashes Tied To Drugs, Alcohol: MD State Police

More than 2 dozen weekend crashes were allegedly caused by drivers who were impaired by alcohol or drugs, Maryland State Police say.

PIKESVILLE, MD — More than two dozen weekend crashes were allegedly caused by drivers who were impaired by alcohol or drugs, Maryland State Police say. Troopers handled 25 alcohol- or drug-related crashes between Friday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 16, according to a news release. Out of that total, eight of the crashes occurred in Baltimore County and four happened in Prince George’s County; officials did not specify where the crashes took place.

In addition to those weekend crashes, state troopers made 48 DUI arrests across Maryland, the department said in its release.

Maryland State Police will have troopers working extra patrols to catch impaired drivers throughout the holidays into the New Year, the press release said. If you drink police urge you to make plans for a sober driver to get you home safely.
