Rape Charge Filed Against Towson Doctor

The owner and operator of a medical practice on York Road has been charged with sex offenses. The physician was denied bail.

TOWSON, MD β€” A Towson physician is charged with rape and other offenses after patients alleged he made inappropriate contact with them, police said. Two victims have come forward, according to officials.

Alberto R. Yataco, MD., of the 1200 block of Culvert Road, is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, police reported Thursday.

Dr. Yataco is the owner and operator of Get Well Immediate Care in the 7800 block of York Road, according to officials, who said he has been charged with second-degree rape, sex abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense, two counts of fourth-degree sex offense and two counts of second-degree assault.

The investigation began after a 16-year-old girl notified authorities that she was touched during a routine medical treatment at the practice in a way that was not appropriate, police said.

A 28-year-old woman also told investigators she was touched by Dr. Yataco in a way that was not consistent with her symptoms.
