Robbery On York Road Involved Cell Phone: Police

Police said that a robbery took place recently in Towson.

TOWSON, MD — A person was robbed of a cell phone on York Road recently, according to police. Officials said that the robbery took place at 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 3.

According to police, the victim and the suspect got into an altercation in the 400 block of York Road.

During the dispute, officials reported the suspect took a cell phone from the victim.

Police said that authorities found the suspect, who was arrested.

According to a survey by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), more than one in 10 people had a cell phone stolen.

The FCC provided this info on what to do in the event of a phone theft:

  • Use anti-theft software that you have installed on the phone to lock it, wipe data and/or set off an alarm.
  • Report the theft to police immediately. Include information like the make and model, serial number and mobile equipment ID number.
  • Contact your service provider to report the theft. The provider could disable your device and block access to information.
  • Ask your service provider for documentation that the phone has been disabled and you reported the device as missing.
