Former Raven Arrested In Florida: Report
Former Ravens safety Matt Elam was picked up on grand theft and battery charges, sources say.

DELRAY BEACH, FL — Former Ravens safety Matt Elam was reportedly arrested — again — over the weekend. Elam made headlines in February for racking up drug charges in a traffic stop near Miami.
The football player, who is currently a free agent, hails from Palm Beach and is an alumnus of the University of Florida.
On Monday morning, he was booked before 9 a.m. in Delray Beach, Florida, for alleged battery and grand theft, according to TMZ.

Earlier this year, Elam was taken into custody after a traffic stop in which authorities said they found his Land Rover contained more than 120 grams of marijuana, several Oxycodone pills and nearly $1,000.
After officers turned on their emergency lights in that incident, Elam reportedly kept driving for several blocks and authorities said they detected a "strong odor" or marijuana and saw a "big cloud" of smoke come out of his vehicle.

Elam was a 2013 first-round draft pick for the Ravens, where he played three seasons but failed to start a game in 2016, according to the NFL.com. He missed the entire 2015 season because of a torn bicep. That year, he also self-reported that he had violated the NFL's substance abuse policy, according to ESPN.
A preseason knee injury sidelined him for all but nine games in 2016, according to the Ravens, who said he was "not in our plans for the 2017 Ravens."
