Today is 4th of July, a wonderful holiday to celebrate and to be proud of. We have barbecues, fireworks and shopping we all do today. When I was planning my wedding, I wanted 4th of July because I thought it would be interesting.
I could not get a caterer or hall to have my event in because it was a holiday. So we changed it to the 5th of July and tomorrow is our 53rd wedding anniversary. This is a lot of years and time together. It is rare now that people stay together this long. It is a nice accomplishment for a couple now days when many stay married for short times.
So this is nice and I am glad we did not marry on the 4th. The 4th is the 4th for all the right reasons and we have the 5th for all ours.
Dates are nice and Mom wanted me to be born on her anniversary, but I was not ready and came two days later. My great niece was born on my birthday and this is sweet.
No matter what date you celebrate for your very own, honor it, adore it and be happy because it designates your happiness and love. It is yours alone and savor all that it means to you.
