Some Schools Closed Monday Due to Heat: BCPS
Students at the 30-plus schools without air-conditioning in Baltimore County have the day off on Monday, Aug. 29.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Schools without air conditioning will be closed on Monday, Aug. 29, according to Baltimore County Public Schools officials. After-school and evening activities at the 37 schools in the county that do not have air conditioning are canceled. This marks the second school day in a row that classes have been canceled at these schools due to the heat.
The Baltimore County Board of Education passed a measure earlier this month requiring schools without air-conditioning to close when the heat index is forecast to be at least 90 degrees.
Temperatures are forecast to be in the high 80s in Baltimore County on Monday, with heat indices reaching 92 degrees by 1 p.m. and peaking at 93 degrees at 3 and 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
