St. Joseph Cuts Ribbon On Guest House

Facility to house patients' families

opened its new Hackerman-Patz House with a Wednesday ribbon cutting.

The new facility on Sister Pierre Drive, funded by Baltimore philanthropists Willard and Lillian Hackerman, will serve as a home away from home for patients and families who travel to the hospital for care.

The suites each include two beds, a private bath, a television and a microwave. But at $65, the nightly rate is far less expensive than nearby hotels. The house currently has 10 first-floor guest suites, with 11 more to be added on the second floor in the future.
