Stanley Black & Decker to Make Announcement at Towson Campus
No details of the announcement are available; tool company employs 1100 in Towson.
Tool company Stanley Black & Decker will announce an investment at its Towson campus on Tuesday morning, county officials said Monday.
County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and state economic development officials will be on hand for the announcement, of which details were not immediately available.
The Towson campus was the corporate headquarters of Black & Decker before its 2010 merger with Stanley. The merged company is now based in New Britain, CT.

The Towson office is the headquarters for its construction and do-it-yourself business.
An media alert released earlier today said company, state and county officials will make an investment announcement related to the company tomorrow at a 10:30 a.m. news conference.

Stanley Black & Decker spokesman Tim Perra declined to discuss the details of Tuesday's announcement.
Approximately 1100 employees currently work at the Towson campus, "about the same" as before Black & Decker merged with Stanley, Perra said.
Several moving trucks are parked in the company's lot on Joppa Road.
County and corporate officials are mum on the substance of tomorrow's announcement. County Councilman David Marks said Monday morning he had no idea what it could be.
"If it's good news you'd think I would know," he said. "I'm usually on top of a lot of these things."
