Towson Axe-Throwing Venue Hosting Hurricane Dorian Relief Benefit

A business in Towson is offering free food and hatchet throwing at its Hurricane Relief Benefit for those impacted by Hurricane Dorian.

TOWSON, MD — Towson's new axe-throwing venue is hosting a hurricane benefit this week. All donations will go to the Red Cross to benefit victims of Hurricane Dorian.

College students with identification will get free food and axe-throwing at the event, which is being held at Stumpy's Hatchet House Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Lotsa Pizza will provide free wings and pizza.

Stumpy's Hatchet House has 10 unique throwing pits where people can hurl their hatchet at the target, an experience that the business promotes as exhilarating.

When not throwing, visitors may feel like they are in their own backyard, able to relax on couches and enjoy their own food and drinks since there is a BYOB policy.

In addition to throwing large sharp objects, Stumpy's Hatchet House is hoping those who come to its hurricane benefit will want to throw down monetary donations for thousands have lost everything as a result of Hurricane Dorian.

Since the storm hit the Bahamas on Sept. 1, the Red Cross has been providing food, water, shelter, hygiene supplies, emotional support and other resources to aid the recovery of those impacted.

The Hurricane Relief Benefit will be from 5 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Stumpy's Hatchet House, 1 Pennsylvania Avenue, Towson. The business will be offering 25 percent off merchandise and gift cards during the benefit, organizers say.
