The following cadets, Jesse Scherr, Kyle Spawn, David Trider, Ryan Mahan, Paige Jones, and Greyson Connor, were presented with their First Flight awards, for having completed their first Cadet Orientation Flights in Cessna single engine aircraft. Cadet Senior Airman Urvesh Sukhai was named Towson Composite Squadron Cadet of the Quarter.

The evening also included recognition of Towson Squadron senior members. Senior Member Randolph Houck and Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt.) Sean Connor, a Towson Squadron Aerospace Education Officer, received the Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager Aerospace Education award. Finally, 2nd Lt. The structured Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is divided into sixteen achievements, involving study and performance in five cadet program areas. Upon completion of each achievement, cadets earn increased responsibility, decorations, awards, eligibility for national and international special activities, and opportunities to apply for both flight and academic scholarships. CAP senior members progress through the Senior Member Professional Development Program, which provides opportunities for senior members to learn specific mission-related skills and prepare for leadership positions. All members have the opportunity to participate in emergency services, search and rescue, and aviation activities.

The Towson Composite Squadron is recognized as one of the oldest continually operating CAP squadrons in the nation, having moved from its original location in Baltimore City in 1961.

The Towson Composite Squadron meets every Wednesday from 7:00 pm until 9:15 pm at the MG Harry C. Ruhl Armory, 1035 York Road, Towson, MD 21204.
