Towson Crime Trends: Carjackings, Burglaries, Robberies

Police said that crime trends in Towson included carjackings and residential burglaries.

TOWSON, MD - There have been several crime trends that police said have been reported in the Towson precinct this week.

There were two street robberies on Loch Bend Drive Friday, Aug. 11, and Saturday, Aug. 12, police said. The robberies happened in the afternoon and evening.

There were two carjackings on York Road around 3 a.m. between Thursday, Aug. 3, and Friday, Aug. 4. In on case, force was used; in another, the suspect implied a weapon, according to officials.

Burglaries have been reported at 34 residences in Rodgers Forge, Stoneleigh and Ridgeleigh. The suspect(s) took laptops, purses, wallets, safes, cell phones, money and keys after getting into the homes by dislodging the window screen. Police said that in three of the cases, vehicles were stolen. The nearly three dozen burglaries have happened since July 28, police said, and three of the burglaries happened in the past week.
