Towson Holds National Night Out 2018
The Towson Area Citizens On Patrol is co-hosting National Night Out on Aug. 7.

TOWSON, MD - From Towsons Area Citizen On Patrol: On National Night Out, August 7, 2018, the public is invited to a special event in Towson celebrating the effective crime fighting partnership between Towson Area Citizens On Patrol (TACOP), the Police Community Relations Council (PCRC) and Precinct Six of the Baltimore County Police Department. This free event will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Washington Avenue in Towson, between Chesapeake and Pennsylvania Avenues. Highlights of the event include refreshments, a short program including an award to Precinct Six Officer of the Year, kids’ activities and a tug-of-war between police officers and Towson residents.
Towson’s National Night Out showcases the message that Crime is Not Welcome in Towson. At this event, police officers and residents can get to know each other and make sure children know police officers are their friend.
Across the country, National Night Out is celebrated on the first Tuesday of every August when Americans come out into the streets, turn on porch lights and stand up against crime in their communities. Every day, TACOP volunteers patrol the streets of Towson neighborhoods to keep residents, businesses and students safe. Working in partnership with the Baltimore County Police, patrollers call 911 to report suspected criminal activity they observe.
