Towson Hosting National Night Out

The Towson Area Citizens on Patrol invites the community for refreshments and activities while uniting against crime on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

From The Town of Towson: Towson will celebrate National Night Out tomorrow evening with a free public event hosted by the Towson Area Citizens On Patrol (TACOP), the Police Community Relations Council (PCRC) and Precinct Six of the Baltimore County Police Department. The event, which will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Washington Avenue in Towson, between Chesapeake and Pennsylvania Avenues, includes free refreshments, a short program honoring the Precinct Six Officer of the Year, kids’ activities and a tug-of-war.

TACOP, PCRC and Precinct Six are sponsoring this event to celebrate their effective crime fighting partnership in Towson and to give police officers and residents the opportunity to get to know one another. Working in partnership with the Baltimore County Police, TACOP volunteers patrol the streets of Towson neighborhoods and call 911 to report suspected criminal activity they observe.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to National Night Out. In addition to refreshments, activities for children will include face painting, hula hoops and the opportunity for them to get on a fire truck, in a police car, see a police boat and meet Baltimore County’s K-9 Patrol.
