Towson Officer To Be Awarded Fire Department's Purple Heart
Fire officials said one officer who was injured in a Towson area fire will be recognized for the act of bravery.

TOWSON, MD — An officer seriously injured in a fatal fire in the Towson area last summer will be presented with the Baltimore County Fire Department's Purple Heart Award Thursday. The officer is among those being recognized for their service at the Baltimore County Fire Department's annual commendations ceremony.
Six non-fire personnel will be recognized at the event with the Citizen's Commendation Award.
The honorees include three men who saved a victim trapped inside a burning residence in Fullerton; two men who pulled someone from a jet ski crash in Frog Mortar Creek in Middle River; and a woman who put herself at risk to care for an unconscious driver whose car went over an embankment in Freeland, officials reported.
