Towson Rainfall Totals from Record-Setting Storm

National Weather Service provides preliminary rain totals, includes info on Loch Raven flood.

The storm that soaked Baltimore County overnight Monday poured 2.42 inches of rain in Towson, according to initial reports provided by the National Weather Service.

There was 2 feet of flowing water near the intersection of Loch Raven Boulevard and Taylor Avenue at 8:51 p.m. Monday, the weather service said, categorizing this as a flash flood in Loch Raven Village.

  • ARBUTUS 1.47 inches at 7:53 .m.
  • SW TOWSON 1.36 inches at 8:30 a.m.
  • SW LONG GREEN 1.3 inches at 7 a.m.
  • ARBUTUS 1.27 inches at 8 a.m.
  • SW PIKESVILLE 1.12 inches at 6 a.m.
  • WNW BALDWIN 1.10 inches at 8 a.m.
  • SSE ROSEDALE 1.09 inches at 7:20 a.m.

There was a record amount of rain in Baltimore City on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Approximately 2.5 inches were recorded, shattering the previous record of 2.14 inches from June 1, 1979.

The most rain recorded statewide was in Bel Air, which had 4.64 inches, according to the weather service.
