Towson's Patriot Plaza To Open Thursday

The newly green plaza by the Circuit Court is officially opening on Thursday with a fun ceremony.

TOWSON, MD — Towson's Patriot Plaza is reopening on Thursday, Nov. 15, with a new green look. The reportedly $5.5 million renovation begain September 2017 and, after months of dealy, is ready for a ribbon-cutting.

County spokeswoman Ellen Kobler said “people love to have attractive amenities, especially in the middle of our downtown areas," making the project a priority, the Baltimore Sun reported.

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, who supported the project and died in May 2018, is honored at the plaza with a plaque, according to the Sun.

The Towson Chamber of Commerce executive director, Nancy Hafford, said the park is gorgeous. "I peek in there about five times a week," she said.

The Towson Farmers Market is setting up in support of the opening ceremony on Thursday, alongside other vendors. Hafford plans to talk with the county in attempt to get the market to move permanently to the newly green plaza, the Sun reported.
