U.S. Lacrosse Celebrates Grand Opening in Baltimore County
The new U.S. Lacrosse campus held a grand opening this week in Sparks, including dedication of memorial garden and first games on campus.
SPARKS, MD — The national governing body for lacrosse in the United States recently celebrated the opening of its new headquarters in Baltimore County.
U.S. Lacrosse moved from Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus in Baltimore City, where it had been based since 1998, to a new location in northern Baltimore County this spring where it could grow.
The 12-acre center includes an outdoor training facility for national men’s and women’s teams, the Lacrosse Museum and National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, classrooms and offices.

From a Hall of Fame induction to spirited competition, the organization packed a weekend with activities to celebrate its grand opening on Sept. 10 and 11. A memorial garden was dedicated 15 years after 9/11 to the nearly 70 people in the sport of lacrosse who died during the terrorist attacks.
In addition, U.S. Lacrosse hosted a game between the FDNY and NYPD lacrosse teams on Sunday, the day the first competitive play took place at the campus since staff members began moving in this past May.
