NSA Worker Denies Stockpiling Top-Secret Defense Files At Home

A Maryland contractor who had a top-secret clearance when he worked for the National Security Agency, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 20 counts of willful retention of national defense information over a 20-year period, prosecutors say. Suspect Harold Thomas Martin III, 51, of Glen Burnie, was indicted Feb. 8 by a federal grand jury for allegedly stealing "highly classified computer codes" which officials claim could have caused "exceptionally grave damage to the national security of the United States" if released.>>>Read more.

Silver Spring Apartment Explosion: Victims Still Struggle to Recover

After a natural gas leak caused a devastating explosion and fire at the Flower Branch Apartments that killed seven residents, two of whom were children, emergency personnel raced to the scene. Dozens of residents were injured from burns, jumping from windows and heat exhaustion, and about 100 residents were displaced by the Aug. 10 blast.   • A pet food company has issued a dog food recall for wet food sold in Maryland; there are fears of contamination with the drug pentobarbital, a sedative often used to euthanize animals.

Gaithersburg Teen's Gang-Related Murder: 10 Suspects Charged

  • Authorities say 10 people — four adults and six juveniles — have been charged in what is now described as the gang-related murder of a 15-year old Gaithersburg girl whose body was found in Springfield, Virginia.
