USA Swimming Bans Former Towson Diving Coach
National organization hands down lifetime ban to ex Towson coach after locker room recording.

The diving coach who admitted to recording swimmers in the Towson University women’s swim team locker room has reportedly been banned from USA Swimming forever.
Maureen Mead, 43, set up a phone to hear what the divers were talking about in the team’s locker room, prosecutors said at a February hearing where she struck a plea deal.
Within a week of the plea agreement being formalized, USA Swimming—the nation’s governing body for competitive swimming—banned Mead from membership for life, according to WBAL, which reported the reason was threefold: she harmed the organization’s reputation, she violated the athletes’ rights to privacy and she used recording devices improperly.

The Towson University Police Department began investigating after the administration was informed Oct. 16, 2015, that a cell phone had been found inside the swimming and diving team’s Burdick Pool locker room and may have been capturing video and audio recordings of the student-athletes, Patch previously reported.
Mead will serve three years on probation in the peeping tom incident, WJZ reports.
