Woman Killed In I-695 Crash: Police

The collision happened near Charles Street, Maryland State Police reported.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A Cockeysville woman died Friday morning when her Jeep Cherokee crashed into a light pole on the ramp from Interstate 695 to Charles Street, according to police.

Marsha Griffin, of Cockeysville, "traveled up the ramp and straight into a traffic light pole," Maryland State Police reported. Officers responded at 3:24 a.m. on Friday, and Griffin was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Neither alcohol nor drugs was believed to have been involved, police said, and there was not any sign of braking or trying to avoid the collision.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.

The ramp from the inner loop to Charles Street was shut down during the investigation. Police said it reopened at 5:34 a.m.
