Body Found in Upper Marlboro Blaze

The cause of death is under joint investigation by the Prince George's County Police and Fire Departments.

Prince George’s County firefighters discovered a body after extinguishing a house fire in Upper Marlboro early Wednesday, according to Mark Brady, a Prince George’s County Fire Department spokesperson

PGFD arrived at the 15000 block of Buck Lane just after 2 a.m. Wednesday and found what appeared to be an abandoned home “well involved with fire.” Brady said crews proceeded to battle the flames for about 45 minutes before knocking back the bulk of the blaze.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters entered the house to wet down hot spots and found the body, which was rendered unidentifiable by the fire, according to Brady.

PGFD and Prince George’s County police are conducting a joint investigation to determine cause of death and identity.
