Adopt and Foster Dogs on Urgent List (11AM - 7PM, Arrive by 5:30 PM)

📢 Community members - Adopters and fosters are needed for 11 dogs on the urgent list by today, 6/30. Please go meet and adopt dogs today. They are at full capacity with dogs including some in crates during construction and need space for more dogs coming in.  

As of 6/30 12 PM: Up to 11 dogs need adopters and fosters! The adoption fee for Thomas is sponsored, and the fee for Ice Cube is $0 based on his weight. Please scroll down to see the shelter's post with photos and link to video! See photos and updates at the Facebook link.  

🐶 Adopters:  Please go to the shelter Tuesday (11am to 7pm, arrive by 5:30pm or no later than 6pm). Adopters are able to meet 2 dogs and bring dogs for meet and greets

Note: Adopters of pit bulls: Review the requirements and complete the Pet Parenting Certification (that takes about an hour) before going to adopt Pit Bull Terriers and specific bully-type breeds.

🐶 Prospective fosters: Fosters through the shelter and rescues are needed for these dogs. Please apply with rescue partners, or with the shelter, to become a foster and save a life. The Friends of PG County Animal Shelter posts about dogs which need fosters through the shelter or otherwise through rescues. Fostering is usually free with a rescue.

Please review the shelter foster information, apply online and complete Pet Parenting Certification. Contact the shelter with the dog's name and ID. "Interested in Fostering: Email fosterpgcpets@co.pg.md.us " They allow pit bull-type dogs to be fostered in Maryland. Foster Information | Prince George's County

Attention everyone!
We are sharing the Length of Stay - Urgent list today.
We want to be transparent that our shelter is currently at full capacity, and we are reaching out for help from the community to find placement for these dogs by the close of business on Tuesday, June 30th. We are looking for adopters, fosters, or assistance from our rescue partners.
Unfortunately, if these dogs do not leave by June 30th, they are at risk of euthanasia. Your support can make a difference.
