No, the chain says, the Big Mac isnât going anywhere, despite social media rumors to the contrary.
A viral falsehood that the Big Mac will be eliminated as part of the fast food giantâs attempt to revamp its menu has made the rounds this week on Facebook and Twitter. But, McDonaldâs representatives say, thereâs no meat behind that rumor.

The latest internet hoax was prompted by an announcement earlier this month from McDonaldâs that it will be cutting eight items from its menu as soon as January. McDonaldâs has not announced which menu items will get the boot yet, but via Twitter,it reassured Big Mac lovers their favorite sandwich is here to stay.
âStop the press! This is just a rumor. The Big Mac is staying on our menu!,â McDonaldâs Tweeted to one customer.
âWhoa, whoa, whoaâhold the phone! Thatâs just a rumorâthe Big Mac isnât going anywhere!,â it wrote to another.
