Upper Marlboro Woman Dies in Beltway Crash With Garbage Truck: Update
Prince George's County Police say an Upper Marlboro woman died when her pickup collided with a garbage truck Tuesday, then struck a pole.

FORESTVILLE, MD — A garbage truck driver may be unaware that his vehicle collided with a pickup truck Tuesday on the Capital Beltway, killing an Upper Marlboro woman.
Prince George’s County Police are asking metro drivers to be on the lookout for a green or blue garbage truck with red lettering. The truck has fresh damage to the passenger side.

The accident happened about 7:15 a.m. at Pennsylvania Avenue and Route 495. Police say Ghada Seifel-Din Ahmed, 37, of Brown Wood Road in Upper Marlboro was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Ahmed had just exited southbound I-495 onto Pennsylvania Avenue when her pickup truck collided with a trash truck on Pennsylvania Avenue, causing her to lose control and strike a pole.

Because of the size difference in the vehicles, police believe it’s possible the trash truck’s driver may not have known the truck was involved in a crash.
