• U.S. finishes strong to conclude Acro Juniors, World Youth Competitions • USA Gymnastics (usagym.org) — Upper Marlboro gymnast Dakota Martin helped represent the U.S. in Italy, where American acrobatic gymnastics groups earned several top-eight finishes at the Junior World Championships and World Youth Competitions. Martin and teammates closed the meet with a strong combined routine, while other Maryland athletes from Crofton, Laurel, Damascus, Potomac, Rockville, Gambrills, and Annapolis also contributed standout performances. 
• Tesla records worst month ever for driver-assist crashes, with 4 fatal cases under Autopilot (thecooldown.com) — A July 12 crash in Upper Marlboro that killed three people is among four fatal incidents Tesla reported as having its driver-assist system engaged, according to filings analyzed by Electrek. Federal regulators are scrutinizing how Tesla reports these crashes, as redacted details limit what the public can learn about what the cars were doing at the time.
