Dog-rescue organizations are trying to find a 2-year-old Labrador mix who was lost during a transfer at Potomac Airfield in Friendly, Md., near Fort Washington. The dog was en route from a high-kill shelter in North Carolina to an adoptive home in Pennsylvania.
The dog, named Simon, has yellow fur and weighs about 65 pounds. He is believed to be a Labrador/Aussie mix. He slipped his collar on Tuesday, October 22, while being moved from one private plane onto another through the volunteer rescue organization Pilots N Paws. He was last seen on Thursday, October 24.
“We hired a tracker this past weekend, and we believe that Simon is walking in a five-mile loop around that airport,” said Michele Armstrong, executive director of Lulu’s Rescue, which found Simon the home in Pennsylvania.
