Beware of Mischievous Fairies in Westminster This Weekend (VIDEO)

Westminster High School students will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream Nov. 10, 11 and 12.

Love runs amuck in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Catch the drama as it unfolds over the next three nights on the stage at Westminster High School.

Melissa Purdy of the Westminster High School Theatre Department is directing the show. She said performing Shakespeare is often a challenge for students.

"The biggest challenge with doing Shakespeare is the language--both helping the actors understand and actually get it out, and then doing everything you can to help the audience understand and enjoy the play," Purdy said."I think we've managed to do both with this production."

But regardless of your ability understand the language of Shakespeare, Purdy said the cast has worked hard to make the show enjoyable for all.

"I really focused on the enhancing the humor in the show, especially the physical aspects as I knew that even if the audience doesn't get all of the lines, physical humor is universal," Purdy said.
