Frederick Dielman, who spent his childhood in New Windsor, had a 60-year career in the arts as an illustrator, painter, teacher, lecturer, and academician. After studying in Germany, Dielman (nicknamed the “Terrapin” for his Maryland roots) returned for the Centennial Exhibition and then opened a studio in New York City. Clark Taggart looks at Dielman’s life, his work, and his position at the center of the art world.
