How Important is Drinking Water?

What is the big deal about drinking water? Everywhere we look someone is selling bottles of water. Is it just cool to walk around with a bottle of water?

Water is amazing stuff. How simple to get and how easy to have on hand. Our bodies are about 60% water. So why do we need to drink more? And what do our bodies do with all of that water?  I looked it up.

removes toxins especially during weight loss

decreases apetite

Ok, now I get how important water is. How in the world do I drink the recommended 64 oz of water a day? That sounds overwhelming!  That is what I thought. Here is what I did.

I started by going to Walmart and buying a water bottle that held 24 oz of water. I filled the water bottle and set it on my desk where I saw it all day long.  Every time I looked at it I tried to take a sip and I drank from it for lunch. At first I didn’t make anywhere near the 64 oz for the day.  Ok, I told my self “let’s work up to it”. The first week I was at  about 50 oz. That felt like a lot!  Then I tried to drink just a little bit more the next week. So each week I increased it a little and I did make it to 64 oz a day.

Here is what happened – Now that I drink 64 oz of water a day my body is used to that much water. I find that I’m really thirsty. My mouth is dry and I’m looking for my water bottle! My body wants the water now and lets me know!  Who would have thought! I’m so disappointed when I forget my water bottle now. I’m also finding that water is what quenched my thirst, not diet soda or juice. I want water!

Try it and let me know what you think.
