In State Tuition for Illegal Aliens--Are You Kidding Me?
When your tax money is being spent, you should have a chance to vote on how it is spent. Should pay for illegal aliens to receive benefits that American citizens can't receive?
If you live legally in Pennsylvania, Delaware,Virginia or any where else in America you can't get the subsidized in state tuition in Maryland. However, if you are illegally in this country and state, you can. I can't even believe this was a question. Why, when someone breaks the law, would you reward his behavior?
Let's look at the question with an example.
Lets say you steel a car. You don't use it in any other crimes. In fact you might even use it to do good deeds like giving rides to poor people so they could get to the doctor's office. Then when he reaches driving age you give it to your child who is now a young adult. Does it now legally belong to the young adult? The child did not commit or have any say in the crime. But now as a young adult he knows where the car came from. The car is spotted on the street by the first owner and he calls the police.

Now what do you think should be done? You choose.
1- Give the kid a discount on a new car paid for by your taxes.

2- Let him keep the car. Good deeds were done with it.
3- Arrest you for steeling the car and take the car away from your kid.
I vote for #3.
Because you got away with a crime is no reason to reward anybody.
Now think about what would be happening if the “subsidized in state rate” is offered to the illegal aliens. One of three things would have to be true: either you need to raise taxes to cover these discounts; or a smaller number of legal citizens would be eligible to attend our colleges; or the college would have to eat the cost. The money has to come from somewhere.
This issue was never voted on by the people whose tax money must pay the bill. I urge you to sign the petition to put this up for a vote of the people on the next ballot. Our politicians don't seem to care what the taxpayers think. It's time to make them represent us.
