Carroll County Public Schools Make Weather Announcement

On Tuesday, Carroll County Public Schools announced that schools would be closed.

• Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, Jan. 27.
• School offices and central office will open at 10 a.m.

McDaniel College is opening at noon on Tuesday. See modified schedule here.

The region is under a winter weather advisory for snow until 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall is expected to continue through mid-morning, with 0.5 to 1 inch of additional accumulation falling between 5 and 10 a.m. in some areas, according to the weather service.

Roads, bridges and overpasses may be slippery. The Maryland Transportation Authority advised allowing extra time for those who need to hit the road Tuesday.
