Carroll Lutheran Village Hosts Benefit for Food Bank

7th Annual Dinner was to Benefit Carroll County Food Sunday

Carroll Lutheran Village hosted “Dining at the Captain’s Table,” the 7th annual fundraising dinner to benefit Carroll County Food Sunday, on Thursday, October 18. The event raised over $13,800 for the organization.

The evening began with cocktails, music, a raffle and a silent auction. The Village’s award winning Executive Chef, Shelley Funt, prepared a menu for more than 140 guests that included Chicken Oscar and a trio dessert plate.

Long-time volunteer Food Bank Administrator and Manager Dennis Fahey was presented the 2018 President’s Award by Board President Lisa Monthley. Fahey volunteered with the organization one day per week from 2001 to 2003. In 2004 he became a part-time employee as the Food Bank Administrator and Manager. “Dennis has more knowledge and history about Carroll County Food Sunday than anyone else,” said Executive Director Ed Leister. “He is a very dedicated individual.”
