Just a few reminders and upcoming events for Carroll County Public Schools.

Early Dismissal Today
Today, Monday, March 14, schools will dismiss two hours and forty-five minutes early. This will provide professional development time for teachers. School is closed for pre-kindergarten students.

Birth through Five Early Intervention Workshops
Carroll and Howard Counties will sponsor a half day of workshops on birth through five early intervention parenting on Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Glenwood Community Center in Cooksville, Maryland. After a short welcome session and meet and greet, there will be a keynote address by Judith Scott, a parent and author of the memoir Out Came the Sun. Participants will have the opportunity to choose three breakout sessions on a variety of topics including yoga for the overstressed parent, behavior management, getting ready for preschool, occupational therapy strategies, speech strategies, sign language, and potty training. Child care and light refreshments will be available. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 25. Space is limited. Register early for the best availability. For more information or to register, please call Cindy Senseney at 410-751-3955.

Volunteer Training
Please Note: The training session will begin promptly at the scheduled time, so allow adequate travel time in order to arrive before the presentation begins.  Attendees must be present for the entire presentation because volunteer training is an annual compliance requirement.  You will need to attend another presentation if the training session has begun when you arrive.  The trainers appreciate your understanding and regret any inconvenience this situation may cause.
