First District Congressional Candidate Michael Smigiel Hosting Town Hall in Carroll County on Saturday
Michael D. Smigiel, Sr. is headed to Carroll County this weekend to hear from the public in an open town hall forum.
Elkton, Md. – This weekend, first district congressional candidate Michael Smigiel is hosting a public town Hall forum at the Carroll County Public Library in Taneytown on Saturday, March 26, at 1:30 p.m.
The congressional town hall event is free and open to the general public, consisting of a traditional format of brief commentary from the candidate followed by questions and discussion items with attendees. Smigiel will be addressing various topics of concern with county citizens including regulatory issues associated with the Conowingo Dam, the Second Amendment, and Smigiel’s position on foreign policy, Obamacare, illegal immigration, spying on American citizens, abortion, the national debt and terrorism.
Individuals and their families living in the district are encouraged to attend, as Smigiel will dedicate considerable time to address audience questions. Saturday’s event is the perfect time to interview Smigiel, who is one of four republicans seeking to represent the First District in congress. In a statement about his town hall events Smigiel said, “People need to know what that their current congressman has voted for, including voting for fully funding Planned Parenthood, voting for amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, for expanding federal abortions, and for removing MDE’s oversight to keep the bay free of pollution, to name a few. When people learn this, they feel betrayed. Citizens deserve a congressman that will stay true to the values and principles of the first district”. The first congressional district comprises twelve counties and partial counties. Smigiel is set to host a town hall event in each county during the primary election season.
The Carroll County town hall forum will take place Saturday at 1:30 pm at the Taneytown Branch Library, 10 Grand Drive, Taneytown, Maryland 21787. Additional town hall forums are being scheduled throughout the Maryland’s First District. The confirmed dates and times are posted on the Smigiel campaign’s website, www.smigielforcongress.com, as well as on social media.
Individuals who are not able to attend one of the planned town hall events are invited to email their questions directly to the candidate at info@smigielforcongress.com. Additionally, Mike Smigiel believes in being accessible to his constituency and offers his personal cell phone at 410-920-0128, for citizens to contact him 24/7.
