Getting to Know One of Carroll County's Most Prominent Leaders (VIDEO)

Being a leader in a thriving community sometimes takes away from being relate-able. President of Carroll Community College Dr. Faye Pappalardo has combined her professional passion with her personal integrity to create an icon on and off campus.

With her open-door policy and active presence at community events like the 2011 Annual Random House Book Fair, Pappalardo "does not know how to be anything other than herself," she said.

"When people ask me what I do, I say that I work at the college," she said."I sometimes tell them I'm in administration."  

Pappalardo wants the students and faculty at Carroll Community College to feel like they can relate to her on any level, academically or otherwise. "The students are most important to me," she said.

Talking and getting to know students are the "most important part of why I love it here at Carroll," according to Pappalardo.
