McDaniel College Names New Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Lori A. Lewis will be joining the McDaniel College community effective July 1.

Lori A. Lewis has been appointed as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at , effective July 1.  Lewis is currently Vice President for Advancement at Marietta College, a four-year coeducational, liberal arts college in Marietta, Ohio.

Lewis has served as a key member of the executive team and successfully designed and executed a $50 million comprehensive campaign within three years at Marietta College. Capital projects funded through the campaign include a $17 million library and learning center, $3.7 million planetarium, and $3.6 million football stadium renovation.

“We welcome Lori to McDaniel,” said President Roger Casey on the McDaniel website. “Our students and faculty will benefit from her extensive experience communicating to and cultivating support from parents, alumni and friends.”

Prior to joining Marietta College in 2005, Lewis was Assistant Dean and Director of Development at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Lewis holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Ohio University. Lewis was the Assistant Dean of Development for the Russ College of Engineering & Technology at Ohio University. During her tenure at Russ College, she played a role in negotiating the details of the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ Prize, one of the top two engineering prizes worldwide.

She also worked at Ohio University as the Assistant Dean for Development & Alumni Affairs in the College of Health & Human services. Prior to her fund-raising career, Lewis was a classroom teacher and administrator for Athens City and County School Districts and an adjunct faculty member at Ohio University's College of Education.
