Boys and Girls Club Shines with Help of McDaniel College Students (VIDEO)
Members of the McDaniel College community helped clean and organize the Boys and Girls club.
United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) recently organized several community Day of Action events in Carroll County in an effort to partner workplace employees with organizations in need.
McDaniel College students visited the for a Club Spirit Day. McDaniel students and kids who attend the Boys and Girls Club worked together to clean and organize the Boys and Girls Club facility. After the cleaning was done, the crew celebrated with munchies and active games.
Dee Athey, UWCM associate vice president of Impact Strategies said that the Day of Action events are expected to result in 1,600 volunteer hours (equal to more than 66 days) that will infuse the equivalent of an estimated $33,360 into the local economy.

Athey said she expected nearly 400 volunteers to gather at locations across the region to complete more than 40 projects on behalf of nonprofits serving vulnerable populations.
Carroll County Government employees also participated in the volunteering. Employees donated time painting facilities run by Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland.
