North Carroll's Dolch Named Maryland High School Principal of the Year

Kimberly Dolch has been the principal at North Carroll High School since 2005.

Kimberly Dolch, principal of North Carroll High School, has been recognized as the Maryland High School Principal of the Year by the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP).

Dolch began her career in Carroll County Public Schools in 1998. She has been principal of North Carroll High School since 2005.

During Dolch’s tenure at North Carroll, the school’s motto has been “Whatever It Takes.” According to a public school news release, she has placed a renewed focus on academics and is well known to all of her students because she is visible and interacts with them daily.

Carroll County Director of High Schools Sherri Bream said, “The relationships she builds with students cause them to feel a sense of security and trust. That kind of climate in a building is not built on words, it is built on actions.”

The Principal of the Year program recognizes outstanding school leaders who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students. These principals are acknowledged by their peers for the exemplary contributions they have made to the profession. The program honors school principals who have demonstrated personal excellence, collaborative leadership, personalization, and excellence in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Dolch will now be Maryland’s nominee for the National Principal of the Year.
