Schools Recognize Instructional Assistants
Wednesday, Feb. 22 is Instructional Assistants Day in Carroll County Public Schools.

If you have a child in kindergarten in a Carroll County public school, then you can probably appreciate the contributions of instructional assistants in the classroom.
Carroll County Public Schools will observe Instructional Assistants Day on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
This day is set aside to recognize the efforts of the more than 380 instructional assistants and paraprofessionals who help Carroll County students in the classroom.

According to a news release, these employees provide support to teachers by individually helping students understand more difficult concepts. They help to make the classroom friendlier for students and provide an extra pair of hands by helping with the distribution of materials to students, checking homework, administering spelling tests, and assisting with a wide variety of other activities.
Instructional assistants and paraprofessionals are considered part of the instructional team. Carroll County Public Schools provides an instructional assistant or paraprofessional in every kindergarten class.
