State Medical Examiner Confirms Caleb Lee Mott Died of Natural Causes

Caleb Lee Mott was found deceased in Finksburg on Oct. 12.

The Maryland State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Caleb Lee Mott died of natural causes related to diabetes. 

According to a news release, there were no signs of trauma discovered during the examination, and the autopsy concluded that 17-year-old Mott died from natural causes.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Oct. 12, Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a wooded area along the 2100 block of Sandymount Road for a report of an unconscious male.

Deputies located a white male, later identified as Caleb Lee Mott of Westminster, lying deceased in a tree line a short distance from the roadway. 

Mott was last seen early the prior morning as he walked from a friend’s home close to where his body was discovered.  Investigators did not observe any injuries to Mott’s body and found no evidence of a struggle at the scene.
