Students from Elementary, Middle and High School Work Together to Put on a Top Notch Concert (Video)
More than 300 Westminster students from elementary, middle and high school came together on stage Wednesday night. The crowd was wowed for the entire hour-long concert.
Wednesday evening's concert was the third "Westminster Region Side by Side Concert." According to Westminster High School band director Brian Drake, the concert was started in an effort to encourage younger kids to continue playing instruments when they get in high school.
"The attrition rate is high when kids get older. They have a lot of other things going on when they enter high school," Drake said.
Wednesday's musical activities went beyond the evening concert. There were rehearsals during the day and an instrument "petting zoo" where younger kids had the opportunity to explore different instruments.
