Lockdown at Winters Mill High School Lifted: Sheriff
In two days, there have been two threats at Westminster schools; the Carroll County Sheriff's Office is on the case.

WESTMINSTER, MD — Authorities with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a threat at Winters Mill High School Tuesday morning and working with other jurisdictions to determine whether it is related to a slew of recent threats to schools around the region.
At 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded and administrators put the school on lockdown after a threatening telephone call came in to the high school in Westminster, the sheriff’s office reported.
Law enforcement conducted a search of the building and at 11:30 a.m., the lockdown was lifted, with the sheriff’s office reporting “no threats verified.”

The threat is the second in two days at a local school.
Cranberry Station Elementary School received a threatening phone call at 10:50 a.m. on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office, which later determined the threat was unsubstantiated.

Multiple schools in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware received threats Monday morning. The FBI said it was too early to say it was investigating but the bureau was aware of the slew of threats, according to NBC Washington.
Schools in Westminster, Bel Air and Frederick were among those that received threats Monday in Maryland.
Carroll officials are “aware of the multiple threats that have been received throughout the region in the past two days and will work cooperatively with other jurisdictions to resolve this case,” the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on Tuesday.
