UPDATE: Carroll Schools Change Status for Thursday
BREAKING: With winter weather advisory in effect, Carroll County Public Schools updated decision for Thursday.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Carroll County will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 9.
This is a change from the earlier decision to open on a two-hour delay.
At approximately 7:15 a.m., authorities announced that Carroll County Public Schools would be closed on Thursday, a little more than two hours after authorities said opening was delayed and they would reevaluate.

In addition to Carroll, school districts in Maryland closed on Thursday were Cecil and Garrett counties.

- Carroll Transit System starts service at 10 a.m.
- McDaniel College opening at 10 a.m.
- All Y Before & After School Enrichment programs in Carroll County are closed.
Carroll County was under a winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. for snow, with 1 to 3 inches expected to accumulate, and has opened six warming centers for those seeking refuge from the cold.
