Westminster Police Department Educates Community Groups

Sgt. Keith Benfer, community education specialist with the Westminster Police Department, visited Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. on June 21st to present information on personal safety to employees and clients. 

According to a news release, Sgt. Benfer discussed issues including telephone and internet safety, being home alone, and how to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

"Anytime the Westminster Police Department can come out to community groups to speak about safety, it benefits both the group and the police," Benfer said in an email to Patch. "We teach the group about safety and crime prevention and the group then can help the police by providing another set of eyes and ears for the community."
