Westminster Police Want Help in Finding Gas Container Thief

Police are investigating five burglaries in which gas containers were stolen.

The Westminster Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with the investigation of four storage shed burglaries and one theft, all of which took place in the Royer Road/Uniontown Road area. 

According to a news release, in each of these cases, only plastic fuel containers of gasoline have been stolen.  Investigators believe that these crimes are occurring during the night and in several cases locks have been forcibly removed from the sheds to gain access. 

Two unsecured gas cans were also stolen from the rear yard of a residence according to the news release.  To date, these incidents have been reported at the following areas:

Police are urging residents in the area to remain alert for any suspicious activity which may be related to this trend.  Suspicious persons or vehicles should be reported immediately by contacting 911 or by calling the Westminster Police Department directly at (410) 848-4646.
