“I know many students have problems balancing their activities between academic and extracurricular.  I found that a strong work ethic as well as a detailed planner keep me up to speed on everything from practices to AP review sessions,” Ben explained.

His parents, Jane and Brian Castner, inspire him -  and so does mellow music. Before any competition or exam, Ben said that he thrives on a good night’s sleep and good study habits. He describes himself as “relaxed,” “hardworking,” and “fun.”

His long range plans? – He hopes to become a chemical engineer.

Patch knows that when it comes to youths, positive news needs to be splashed out in public as often as possible. The students don't have to be best at something - but they might be.Their accomplishment doesn't have to be known by a lot of people already -- but it might be. If you know of a student who is just awesome -- that student is a Whiz Kid. Please take a little time and email:  *the student's name (or students' names)* Age* School(contact information if possible)* A few sentences about why the student is awesome to: kym.byrnes@Patch.com
