Whiz Kid: Nathan Wagner Goes all the Way with Perfect Attendance
Recent Winters Mill graduate Nathan Wagner has achieved a near-impossible feat for most high school students: perfect attendance throughout all four years of school.

Recent Winters Mill High School graduate Nathan Wagner seemingly achieved the impossible for a student. He had perfect attendance throughout all four years of his high school education, despite temptations like senior skip day, and sleeping in when he just didn't feel good. Wagner told Patch about his achievements in school, and his plans for the future.
Patch: How did you achieve perfect attendance all through out high school?
Wagner: I achieved perfect attendance with my dedication to my school work and my strong desire to show off my punctuality, especially to future employers.

Patch: Was it difficult, with sickness and temptations like senior skip day?
Wagner: The temptation was not too hard, but there were some days after a football game where you feel that it would be much easier to lie in bed, but you still find that inner drive to succeed.

Patch: What else have you achieved in academics and athletics?
Wagner: As my academics go, I finished high school with a GPA of over 2.75. As for athletics I was a member of the football team all four years of high school, playing offensive guard and affectionately earning the nickname "Gravy," which I proudly carried throughout school.
Patch: What are your plans for the future?
Wagner: I plan to attend Carroll Community College for two years and then transfer to Towson to study secondary education in hopes of teaching literature/English courses to middle or high school students.
Patch: What advice would you give to someone to stay active in school?
Wagner: My advice is to always be thankful that you were given an opportunity to gain education and to do your best to apply your studies in the real world. I hope that by teaching other children what I know and my love for literature, more kids will be able to find the words that are deep inside each and every one of us.
